Celebrating the Start of Summer With a Strawberry Fest

North Attleborough recently came alive with the sweet aroma of strawberries and the sounds of community celebration as the North Attleborough Farmers Market hosted its Strawberry Fest themed market day. Held on a sunny Saturday at Veterans Park, the event transformed a typical market weekend into a vibrant festival of local commerce, festive traditions, and patriotic spirit.

A Community Comes Together

The event, which took place from 9 AM to 1 PM, drew families and friends eager to support local businesses while enjoying a unique, themed experience. Over 40 local vendors filled the park, offering everything from fresh produce and handmade crafts to delicious treats. Food vendors added to the festive atmosphere, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the strawberry shortcake—a collaboration with DANA (Downtown Associates of North Attleborough).

DANA, known for its long-running Strawberry Festival, brought its beloved traditions to the market, introducing a twist this year with a new chocolate cake option alongside their famous original biscuit version. The sweet treats became a highlight for attendees, perfectly capturing the spirit of the event.

Music, Games, and a Patriotic Parade

Beyond the food, the market offered entertainment for all ages.  The Unlikely Strummers, a market favorite, provided live music that set a lively tone throughout the day. For the little ones, kids’ games and activities kept everyone engaged and smiling.

 
The highlight of the morning was the 11 am Patriotic Parade, where participants decorated their bikes, wagons, strollers, scooters, and wheelchairs in red, white, and blue. Judges roamed the parade route, awarding prizes to the most creative and patriotic entries. It was a heartwarming display of community pride and creativity.
