Hurting People Hurt People

HAVE MOUTH!  WILL CHEW!
Because "the power of life or death is in the tongue."

"My food is to do the will of my Father in Heaven."  ~Jesus

Like you, I have a mouth and I can use it to curse OR I can use it to bless.  I can say things that are false and misleading or I can speak words that encourage, comfort and bring healing to the one that I'm feeding them to.  Words are powerful.  They can be cutting and cause 'bleeding' in the spirit.  There can be an open wound for decades unless there's been some "inner healing" that's taken place through forgiveness and maybe some good talk therapy.  The Bible says that "the power of life and death is in the tongue" and that's so true.  We can even tell ourselves things, out loud or silently, that will "speak" life or death to ourselves.  Have you ever called yourself stupid, ugly, or an idiot?  Why?  Because "out of the abundance of the heart a person speaks" (Bible).

It's been said that hurting people hurt people.  If you're heart is hurting you need to receive healing words.  If no one else is telling you what you need to hear, then be your own best friend.  If you don't like you, then don't you think it's about time you have a GOOD talk with yourself?  A good talk is one in which you treat yourself the way you wish others would treat you...with kindness and mercy.  Practice random acts of kindness on yourself and then go and do to others as you would have them do unto you!  They just may need your healing words and deeds that speak even louder!
